Class Descriptions
Vinyasa yoga is a style of yoga flowing from pose to pose following your breath. A moving meditation, meditating on your breath! Improve your strength, balance, flexibility and focus with this beautiful flowing practice. A fun sequence of standing, seated and inverted postures will leave you feeling strong and enlivened yet calm and focused. This alignment-based flow class is suitable for all levels. As always, you will be guided by an experienced yoga instructor, but the practice is yours! Modifications and variations on the poses will be offered. You may take the practice up or down a notch, based on what your body is requesting at that moment. Come get into the flow, focus on your breath, let go of what no longer serves you and leave it on the mat! Class ends with a final relaxation (savasana). This is where the magic really happens! Your body gets to digest all the physical and mental benefits of the practice leaving you refreshed, relaxed and renewed!
We offer heated and room temperature flow classes, which are noted on the class schedule.
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga that utilizes longer holds (time held in a pose) to allow the body to surrender and release. Practicing self-compassion and allowing your body to relax and renew is essential. Yin yoga focuses on softening and allowing – being, rather than doing.
Yin Yoga incorporates principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and focuses on allowing energy (chi or prana) to flow more freely and evenly throughout the body.
Yin Yoga calms and balances the mind and body and softens tight connective tissue (fascia), allowing for improved flexibility and mobility.
Yin is the complement to Yang. Yin energy is cooler, calmer, reflective and inward. Yang energy is warm or fiery, action-oriented and expansive. We need both! Yin and Yang are not opposites, they are interconnected and interdependent of one another.
Come, relax, be kind to your body, and enjoy.
Wear comfortable clothes you can move easily in.

Join us for an exploration of fitness and movement. This class will merge Fletcher method Pilates, Yoga, Dance and Barre into one class. It's an opportunity to see where all of these fitness and wellness practices meet each other in their support of a healthy body and mind. This class can increase your flexibility and body awareness, build strength, improve balance and coordination and most importantly help you to connect more deeply to your body and to find that happy space in your mind.
Every class will be different, using various small apparatus and props while moving from the mat to Barre. We will explore the use of Swiss Balls, Fletcher towel work, free weights and rollers.

This is a Yin and Yang Yoga class. Moving from movement and the sympathetic nervous system (the get things done system) to the parasympathetic nervous system (the rest and digest/calm and connect system), allowing for more balance - body, mind and spirit.
This slow flow yoga class will connect body and mind through intentional and flowing movements guided by the breath. This is not a gentle practice, necessarily, but an opportunity to SLOW DOWN and "drop in" deeper into your yoga flow in an effort to be more aware and present within a slower paced practice. We will explore longer holds in the postures, expansion of body and breath connection, and conscious rest. Moving slowly within practice slows down the mind and strengthens the muscles of the body. We will incorporate restorative and Yin poses at the start and end of practice, utilizing yoga props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks and yoga straps, if you have them; pillows, towels, books, neck ties or other items around the house make great substitutes for studio props, for those practicing at home via Zoom.
We'll end with a short guided meditation and Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra means “Yogic Sleep” and allows the nervous system to settle and to slow the brain waves for more concentration and rest and has been shown to improve sleep.
This 75-minute class offers a non-judgmental space to explore the importance of both the entry and exit of postures, transitions within a flow, and most of all the best version of postures that connect body, mind, and YOU.
